About Jim Bulger
Jim began caring for others at an early age. He grew up in New York where his family took in foster children, starting with babies left behind by the crack epidemic in the 1980s. Over the years, Jim’s family has cared for over one hundred children. Jim carries with him the lessons he learned from being a big brother to so many siblings, caring deeply about helping people who might not have the tools to help themselves. He now uses his legal training and experience to get justice for people who need help. Jim specializes in personal injury, elder abuse, medical malpractice, employment and insurance wrongdoing. His clients have suffered personal injuries, including life altering catastrophic injuries such as spinal cord injuries, birth injuries, elder abuse, and other injuries.
As an attorney, Jim fights exclusively on behalf of people who have been harmed. He does not represent insurance companies or large corporations. But it wasn’t always that way. Jim started his legal career on Wall Street at the international law firm Milbank Tweed. He was a corporate bankruptcy lawyer, representing banks, hedge funds and other creditors in the largest corporate bankruptcies in history, including Enron and Lehman Brothers. Since finding his calling as a plaintiffs’ lawyer, Jim continues to use the skills, toughness and discipline he gained working on Wall Street – one of the most competitive environments on earth – to stand up for people. He fights hard against insurance companies who aim to use their vast resources to minimize compensation for the suffering people have endured.
Along with Jonathan Seber, Jim founded Seber Bulger LLP to further his goal of using his legal knowledge and expertise to help those in need. Jim Bulger and Jonathan Seber are good friends who share both a compassion for others and a passion for the law. Prior to co-founding Seber Bulger, Jim worked as a litigation attorney at Heimberg Barr, LLP. While there Jim learned to handle large medical malpractice, corporate negligence and catastrophic injury cases. He brings that knowledge and training to his current practice, where he represents clients from all walks of life who have suffered injuries.
Jim grew up in Levittown New York, earned his BA in English from Boston University in 1997 and his law degree at Fordham University School of Law in 2003.
